No Fire Proof Anvil?
I have an Iron Anvil but I can't use it for Metal Smithing?

Depends. If they're moving it, it disappears from the construction list. Also, Kea steal these sometimes. So check your stocks menu to make sure.

Iron anvils are fine though.

The anvils are a materials for constructing a forge or magma forge. Iron anvils are "magma proof" ; I used some to build magma forges.

Are you sure you have an unused anvil? The Stocks button will show you anvils that are already in use in workshops.

Yes I have one. it's stuck in a wheelbarrel. I have no clue what's happening though as my dwarves aren't even putting the right stuff into the right stockpile. Wondering if I should restart or something

I have this issue too. It randomly let me use them a few hours later, though.

What is the average velocity of a Kea carrying an (Iron Anvil)?

Not true, one can be melted for steel bars, and the other can't.

If u havent located the right rtocks to make steel then your only option is to buy one off a Trade caravan.

I always add STEEL ANVIL to my requested items for next year when you do the Diplomacy with a Trader.

Welcome to one of the hurdles a small fort must overcome in DF ;)
