Why do some of the dwarfs have shiny names?

As best I know, these are dwarves with legendary skills! They have something they are especially good at, so it helps to keep track of dwarves you really want to make sure don't get mauled by a stray wombat.

Flashing names are legendary skills, yes. All other colours are dictated by profession.

They aren't necessarily legendary at their job, though. A metalworker might be flashing, but only a novice metalsmith... But like, a legendary dancer, or somesuch lol.

They also have a flashy name if they are !!on fire!! or drowning.
