Right now, there's nothing else you can do with them. Some are more violent than others. If you know there's been a death you can't reach, you should make a slab, ghost or no.
Well, goblins are atacking me often, and a lot people died by thirst or by falling tree...

The problem is nearby trees drop their logs onto other trees. Normally when a woodcutter falls a tree, those logs won't hurt them, but the logs stuck in branches can.
Once the area is sufficiently thinned, logs will have a much lower chance of collecting on other trees. I totally stopped having people die to falling trees after doing this, you do have to keep it up though.
