Use Royal jelly for cooking.
Hey, i have more than 100 Royal jelly in jugs but the cook dont want to use it and i need the jugs to collect honey/wax. Is there any way to trick the cook to use Royal jelly more often ?

Are the jugs in bins?

You might be able to do so, temporarily, by making a stockpile for that and just a few other items and forcing a Kitchen to use only that stockpile for awhile. Worth a shot?

They are in barrel, in food stockpile

Try dumping them out of the barrel, and don't allow barrels in their stockpile.

It works! Kinda ....
I have 1x1 stockpile with just cheese and big stockpile with Honey Bee Royal Jelly both linked to the kitchen. The Jelly stockpile should be closer than the cheese stockpile so the cook does not pick 4x cheese. The Jelly is stored in bins full of jugs.

the result is Honey Bee Royal Jelly roast with random number of royal jelly.

The same method works with Dwarven syrup or any liquid usable of cooking.

Sweet! Congrats!

Did they use enough of it to free up your jugs?

I really like those kind of threads, so thanks for everyone's input.
Stupid question before I start crafting more and more jugs.
Besides brewing mead, is there really a benefit to deal with bees.

Do you need the wax in a more complex production ?
Or due to small stuff like that, you are better off not using bees at all, as if for booze alone I find some other stuff as fun to use as mead ?

I'm probably sure the answer will be you don't "need" to fiddle with bees though, but want to make 100% sure before I stop using that.

Well, you're not gonna run out of jugs, now. That's.. a bunch of jugs. :)

Any Artifact Willow Jugs? :)

Dorfs can get long-lasting good Memories when they eat the foods they like. It's a big enough reason to at least supply a large variety of different raw materials/foods.

That's kind of a wiki question thing. :) I don't know where that chain goes.

But, there are Honey Bees.

There are Beehive things and honey production and stuff that comes from that... So, it's enough?

Wax may be related to Libraries, like in Candles, perhaps? I don't know, atm, but seems a safe bet that'd be the most obvious use for it. And, games that owe their inspiration to DF use that mechanic, too.
