That being said this game has some curvture to get use to, but it isnt that hard aslong you willing to spend some time figure stuff out and figure out what thing went wrong and how
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

In the help menu in game theres quite a lot of information, and basically continues the tutorial.
It'll teach you pretty much all of the basic functions of the game.

For example, after finishing the 8 step tutorial, press the help button (in the tutorial, at the end of it, it will tell you where the help button is. But it's right next to the minimap and is a ?)
Click on the help button and start from the top, and go down. Or if there's something specific you need to learn, look for it in the help section, it may be there. And if it's not, there's always trial and error - or if you want to skip the trial and error, yes you can search it up or ask for help.

Hope that helps.
I just started the other day, and i've had a couple of questions i've had to ask so far, but 95% of it I have found within the game, or just through common sense. And every question i've asked here on steam, has been answered within a max of 30 minutes. Usually people have been like 2 minutes, and they have an answer.

There is a very basic tutorial in the game. There is also in-game help. There is also the DF Wiki.

That being said - if you dislike reading, learning and figuring out novel ways to achieve your goals in-game, then this may not be the game for you.

Yes there are youtube tutorials, and yes they're very useful when it comes to more advanced stuff.

You can also just mess around in game and figure stuff out over time, although only you can know if that's something that appeals to you or not.

It's like in Minecraft ..you don't need to, but without yt and wiki you would not get to full potential. I mean, without the mc-wiki I certainly would not have known of a lot of crafting recipes. Same applies here...and there's a lot more going on, so there's more to learn about.

never watched a single youtube tutorial in 13 years of DF playing.
problem with those in my opinion is that its just too much info and alternative solutions to cram in a youtube vid.

Wiki and experimentation will give you all you really need

Same here. The wiki presents all necessary information in a much more condensed way.

Thank you. I've heard enough.

You can play this game without looking anything up. If you think you can play any game, however, without having to learn how to play them... you're in the wrong business.

That being said, you will probably have to be willing to go through a ton of frustration and endure your bad guesses to be willing to continue to play this game only by learning through trial and error if you're not at least willing to read relevant Wiki entrees.

This game is not going to insist you play it. This game is going to be doing a heck of a lot more under the hood than any other games you've played, though. If you are willing to work, as the player, to experience that, then this is a game you'll find very rewarding to play. BUT, if you don't want to do much work to explore the gameplay, you'll find a lot of things pretty frustrating.

That's fine - Not all people like the same sort of gaming experience. You're not expected to love every game that's out there. I surely don't and am very willing to rant about that if anyone's interested... And, guess what? Most people aren't going to be very interested in my game rants.

It's your choice and you have to live with it. Go check out some gameplay videos, not "Tutorials" or "Guides" to get a decent sampling of what the live experience of playing it might be like. Base your decision on that and what feedback you can get from your questions.

Reading some entries in the wiki may help you get a handle on how the game presents itself and what to expect to receive from that gameplay experience.

PS: This game is not hard. It's just not. It's not a game that has "win conditions." And, once you get the hang of making things "do" in it? Well, the rest of the game is delving down into what it presents to you and what challenges you decide to accept.

You don't have to know how to do anything, the game continues just fine as long as you leave it unpaused, you're just speedrunning the inevitable.

There must be a bait shop nearby, because there's too many fishers here.

'Did the Developers Falter?' was a legendary troll skin scroll. This is a troll skin scroll, the rollers are made of rimworld references. Written on the item is a manual entitled 'Did the Developers Falter?' authored by Urist Controversialpost the Post of Controversy. It concerns the method of accurately and comprehensively overhauling video games for steam releases. The writing is very aggressive. Overall, the prose is not awful, but not very good either.
