Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

What are your plans for Adventure mode?
Unsurprisingly, I am highly excited for Adventure mode.

I've been debating all the various fun stuff to do.

Right now, I'm toying with the idea of playing a duo of animal-men, specifically a bat man and a cardinal man ( since there are no robin men), based out of a settlement named something like "Got-Ham the Sewer of Scum".

Either that, or maybe a bat man vampire?
You know, like a vampire bat..?

Or maybe a one-punch-man kind of character that does not use weapons, instead training striking, kicking, wrestling and biting in order to master the ancient dwarven martial art of Kisat Dur[df-walkthrough.readthedocs.io], though if I should stay true to the art and play as a dwarf or if I should utilize the claws and teeth of a predatory animal person is a tough question.

What about the rest of you?
Any plans for Adventure mode?

Or perhaps you've never played it before, and want to know more about it?
If so, I'll do my best to answer your questions, though to be fair there are probably loads of people with far more hours sunk into Adventure mode than me that prowl these forums.

Batman and Robin are already meme in the game, since you can met them and have plenty of Batman references.
Pretty sure there were One Punch man and Super Saiyan mods somewhere.

Personally, I just like to go as an adventurer into my own fun filled fortresses.

The same thing we do every night, try to take over the world!

No, first we get Arena mode (Where you can pit, say, a giant polar bear against a cave dragon for fun, or just hold a gladiatorial tournament, like Splatterface), then we get Adventure mode at some point after that.

The planning is, if I'm not entirely mistaken:

Launch (Done)->Classic mode (Done)->Arena mode->Adventure mode

Adventure mode is the biggest post-launch addition, as it is an entire Roguelike gamemode, and can be especially great fun (IMO) when combined with fortress mode.

For instance: Start a fort, set up the basics, retire fort, create adventurer, do some adventuring, then settle in said fort and start up fortress mode again.

The pre-release estimation was 1-4 months. I can only assume this has been knocked back even further thanks to the rough release.
Don't expect Adventure Mode til at least mid next year.

well, if minting coins turns out to be nothing...

might make a vault and have my adventure try to steal all the coins from each of my fortresses and put them all in one vault...

It might take quite a few adventures to succeed XD

Ironically, Adventure mode is originally core gameplay with Dwarf Fortress being the supplementary mode. It's just devs went overboard with complexity ending up making whole new game.

My plans? Starting a new museum succession game[www.bay12forums.com] most likely. The current one has had about a hundred adventurers, and over fifty fortresses to explore. It's nice to see the world develop with that many people interacting.
