Cave Moss over taking Sand
Cave Moss Spread has taken over my sand pit. So now all the tiles are Cave Moss instead of Sand. Is there a way to undo this or to stop the spread?

Besides paving over with floor, no. If you worry about not being able to get sand, it won't matter one bit. Same for farms.

The only thing it does besides aesthetic is bring food for grazers so you can setup a pasture inside.

Build a floor there, then remove the floor. To stop the moss from coming back, put a floor grate on the sand. Moss won't grow but dwarfs can still collect through it.

Dirt road is faster if you go that way. But it's not permanent.

By the way, you know that sand and this way to collect glaze is an infinite ressources set up that way right ? so a single one tile will do.
So if you go with what any of both guys above suggested, a single one tile grate will be good. Pave the rest if for aesthetic reason.

I personally ignore the awful look of it for now.

But worth mentionning, if you leave enough room above those tiles, you will have eventually those "shroom" trees growing in your upper levels, allowing you "safe" woodcutting indoor, also like mentioned safe indoor grazing, etc.

Besides again aesthetics, I find it very useful to not wanting to deal with it, but use it to your advantage

My first fort ages ago I built in "dirt", I didn't know about cave moss. Well I learned, I use the "dirt" layer for farm and animals now. Also trading and stuff like that.
