Clowns spawning inside and around candy vain.
I've started mining candy for the first time and I'm being very carful not to breach into the circus by carving fortifications into the vein however clowns keep spawning in 1x1 tiles inside the vain causing me to have to go back to a previous save because my military cant handle it.
The notification is "something evil has emerged from a newly discovered pocket!"
My current theory is they they make it out with water flowing from inside the fortification.
Is there any way to disable these random clown spawns in settings or in world gen?
Or is there a way to safely mine around them without letting them out? They somehow keep managing to make it out of the fortifications that I carve.

AFAIK the only things to do are to be less greedy or to become the ringmaster and push the circus back into the tent with extreme prejudice.

Fortifications is a clever idea but I don't know if it works. I wouldn't risk contact unless I was sure I could handle the whole shebang. Perhaps by encasing them in obsidian...

It isn't supposed to be safe.

Investigate ways to exploit the amount of Cotton Candy that you can get safely. There are methods that violate physics for most materials in game.

I found out that fortifications do work and they will reveal the circus and won't let the clowns out. However if the fortification is ever 7/7 with water the clowns can get through

The volcanic gem wall had a chance for demons to spawn from it. Mine had a candy vein inside too.

Yeah but my problem was that I was digging fortifications into the walls so I wouldn't accidentally expose a clown, and sometimes they would just walk through the fortification. Figured out that if the fortification is 7/7 flooded with water the clowns can just go through it
