manager not working(?)

hi guys

i'm having trouble, it looks like my task list is bugged? i have lots of orders automated, and now they won't cycle anymore. what i mean is: the little parchment symbol that says if the order has been approved or not is stuck, even if i add an order it won't "check" and they will not do it. the only way i have to order something is to go to an actual workshop and add the order there, if not i can't do it from the main menu.

is it normal? is there a fix?

manager needs to be free dont put him in a squad ect had this before that tasks stopped that way.

Once you get over 20 dwarves, the office requirement is enforced. Prior to that, you don't really need it, but should have been preparing it.

yep, check if the managers requirements are met. (also, i think, not sure though, if you have your leader asigned as manager as well and they get promoted, there are new requirements i.e. bigger office and chest, armor stand and weapon racks and stuff)

also, don't do what i did accidentally and make your manager your militia leader.... because while he is happily training away with his squad, paper will collect dust in his office :p

My manager is also the broker for my forts. I always build him an office in the beginning. Something else is you can get away with not building farming plots right away. I've actually waited half a year before I started producing Plump Helmets. But I try to make my forts super neat and clean looking.

Make sure you have a 2-2 room with bed and chest, and a small office 2-2 with a chair only there, these two rooms should be enough for your manager start the bills, you just have to set the zones, issue the orders and then wait until the orders get approved, they aren't instantly approved but might take a min or two so don't worry and wait just a bit and it should be fine. The bills icon will eventually go from white to green if everything is done right, if you have a doubt you can check youtube, there are some nice guides and playthroughs that help a lot, and also the DF Wikipedia, the game doesn't show info about the seeds and stuff like that and I had to go to wiki to know which one produced what
