Question about baronies and kingdoms
So I was playing yesterday and in my first real fort after the tutorial one and I have about 60 dwarves. I already have 2 baronies inherited and also my civilizations king title was also inherited, how often does this happen? I feel like this doesn't happen in every game for sure.

Also my first mayor seems to be a vampire, how the heck will I boot them out or do I just wall them in their bedroom lol. Just a thought, can dwarves speak trough fortifications and such? I could make a speaking hole for the dwarves to yell at the vampire mayor lol.

Inheriting titles is quite random, events in the outside world (wars, raids, etc.) can cause it, which is quite interesting. But it's all up to the world you generated. It can be fun to go through the legends to trace down how the title ended in the hands of that random chump in your tavern. Haven't had it happen to me in my current fort but have had it happen in another one. Having multiple nobles with their fancies can be tedious, especially if they all ban you from exporting good sellables.

For the Mayor situation.. You could expel them, or you could train up another dwarf and see if they get beaten in a Mayoral race naturally (social jobs like broker can train up a good competition, or a tavern keeper. If you don't let kids do chores they also socialize a lot so a young one could one day grow up to be a contender). If you're afraid of the murder, then yeah, walling them up might be a good idea. Mayors do all the meetings and diplomacy though so it's wiser to do it after they've been replaced by someone.

A walled up vampire can be quite useful as a manager or a book keeper if you set them up with a nice enough room with a table, since they don't actually need to leave the room to do that (at least in earlier versions). Or you could lock them up at the top of a tower to work as an eternal watch man, keeping an eye out for raiders, sneaking thieves, and such.

For your mayor, you can't expel them as they are elected and part of your nobles.

Mine happened to have an "accident" checking that front gate bridge. was lifted up and then boom, poor Mayor got smashed into the oblivion. I totally don't know how he happened to be there at this particular moment...

Accidents happens all the time in fortereses, So unfortunate.

AFAIK, no wars or such happened, their relatives just died or something lol (I also got an abbot for a religion that no one worships cause I can't see it in the temple selection lol)
