Then I read about platinum statues, which workshop can craft them?
So after the guild has not been established but I created a guildhall and the timer canceled it, will it still be fullfilled after I placed more value into those rooms?
And what happens if you outright refuse to establish one?
It's not a bad things. Member of the guild will go there to "teach" their profession, which helps when you have say a legendary dude teaching your "noobie". Put toys in there and the kid will also learn ! There are trick like putting a meeting hall in the middle, training area... so people go there often and learn how to do the profession that is in high demand for you
Dont forget to open it to everyone.
I think they still get a happy thought when it is established no matter what.
It seems visitors will also teach there. According to the wiki, it also satisfies socializing, helping others and a couple more needs.
Also, guilds and guildhalls are related, but not the same thing. Guilds are group of people, guildhalls are where they meet. You can have either without the other, i.e., guilds will form regardless you give them a hall, and you making and assigning a guildless guildhall doesn't mean that guild will necessarily form.
1:
There are so many thing to learn, I got my storage in the middle or under my workshops, but those people have to run sometimes even 50 tiles in one direction.
Got to fix this for sure,
2:
then I've not enough wood and only 1/8 is wood on my surface, got to get a woodcutter encampment with a lorry there, right now I send them over the full map to chop them
3:
Dwarfs loosing their mind because they don't finish their secretive project (only 2 went insane so far and one was cut down by a woodcutter)
4:
Didn't assign a doctor in the hospital itself so one dwarf was lying there for 2 years :)
Got to get all those institutions running, paper, tavern -> performers.
My base so far is for 140 guys, but it's just medicore designed, my first base, so I know from Rimworld or empyrion how much beautiful there is to be seen if you go at least 3 wide halls and walls 2 wide or even 3 wide to use the space to get some beautiful places done, nooks and crannies filled with eyecandy
Long way to go, and then there is just the constant danger and influx and besides that you need to get a feeling for the game, about which mechanics you're still unsure
PS: and theoretically if even a little constricted you could make halls even 3 high, but ofc you wouldn't see any upside from that or can you let a guildhall span over multiple levels?
PPS: I lack precious metals, only platinum I got maybe 50
Scholar are good since they help make books, but they will keep it if they are their own. There are ways to avoid that issue, obviously :) But otherwise you can make copies so it's ok.
"Trees" also grow in the cavern layer. Not always, but you have 3 of them :D Cavern are dangerous though, but that's dwarf life :) Be prepared, and if you die, losing is fun and a learning experience.
You can check what they need if you click on the workshop and they are waiting for mat. Quickly kill an animal for leather/bones for example, or mine som gem, whatever.
Always have spare for "rare" item like silk.
Noble->chief medical dwarf.
Also you can create a labor for medical stuff and assign people to it.
In previous version multiple Z level tall was awkward vanilla. You can do it, but honestly it's mostly for the RP factor. Going full Moria style.
Different metal at different layer. It's related on the local rocks, like IRL. Some are sedimentary, other igneous.... IF you really only have platinum, trade for what you want (ask the dwarves caravan even), and ask your friendly goblin siege to !
Platinum is highly valuable, so trading won't be an issue. And people will be happy for all the statues and stuff.
