Mission Reports
Sooooo... sure, this version of the games has a LOT of missing things...

But where are the frickin mission reports (I'm also asking this seriously, hoping I missed it)? I send dorfs to raze and raid some gobbos, and I have no idea what they did there, what they got, who/what they killed...
It feels like sending some people on an errand, going out for a few hours, only to come back to wounded people with no clue what the hell happened, with no-one willing to elaborate, maybe they completed the errands (I know they did something since gobbo pop dropped, though by too much when considering the kills listed in the kills tab)?

Same with fight reports. If you right-click accidentally, that's it, no report for you. A dedicated Military tab (next to the justice tab) would go a very long way. Wish I could go back to that fight report where 4 adult dorfs (Manager, Bookkeeper, a Farmer and a Fisher) and a wardog destroyed a berserking 5 year-old (Also, how is killing the kid the only "legitimate" way of stopping them).

This version was released prematurely so that players can dig in right away, so it's known that all the features of Fortress Mode from classic are not yet implemented, but I'm sure they will be. Even the universal health window is still being worked on right now. Last night's update (0.50.03) had already fixed an issue I had where I couldn't build a 20x20 floor without having to click my specific material 400 times. Thankfully now there's an "All" button to add all materials.

Oh man. I wasn't even hoping to see DF released this year on steam, so the fact it was was quite a surprise... Guess I understand why my release date estimate was off by so much haha

They didn't even advertise it as "early access", which it basically is. Feels like quite the lie. By the time I fully realized just how much was missing, i'd already played passed the 2 hour limit haha
(PS: the excuse of supporting the dev is kind of fake since Steam and the publisher take a huge cut. Just directly donating to Tarn would have been the true "support")

Adventure Mode is still not in either. If I remember from an interview, Tarn said they'll finish implementing Fortress Mode while improving it, and only then will they start implementing Adventure Mode.

I find this version to still be very well worth it though, but of course not without its flaws that many people are hoping to see fixed. For me, my current problems now are how tombs currently work (they need zones now, which they don't in classic), which is more of a hassle. Also the lack of a logs/combat report (notification history).

Adventure Mode is still not in either. If I remember from an interview, Tarn said they'll finish implementing Fortress Mode while improving it, and after that they will finally start implementing Adventure Mode.

So it IS technically Early Access. Wish they'd advertised that with, you know, the "Early Access" tag haha

I might sound mean, but the way they did it is kind of shady

bro weve been playing an early access version of dwarf fortress for 20 years. for free.

It's been in development for 20 years, and is only now about 50% complete... sure you can call it "early access" if you like, but also, if we waited until the game was "finished" then we won;t get to play it for another 20 years.

Thank you for that!
Now any idea where the old reports for fights and diplomacy go (Accidentally closed out of a diplomacy screen once only for me to not be able to find any way to re-open it)?
