My Dwarf Pop is 56 and I'm running this on Linux through Proton, FPS is currently sitting around 95
I was just working with tavern bedroomsand also crashed shortly after unpausing, I don't remember if that is exactly what triggered it. I am also using Linux with Proton.
There is a bug with Zones and deleting them if they've been assigned to a Dorf. I think the crash is caused by said Dorf having a job or action that interacts with that Zone and when it gets deleted before that is finished, it throws an error that isn't controlled for.
For example, I've deleted a Zone assigned to a Dorf with no issues. Then, I've deleted a Zone assigned to a Dorf while that Dorf was moving to that Zone and... <crash>. Why? The Dorf was trying to go to zone_xx_ and zone_xx_ doesn't exist, so... <crash>
That's my interpretation, anyway. :)
AFAIK, this is a "known" catastrophic bug and should eventually be cleaned up or some black-hole of an error bin will catch it and prevent the game from crashing... one hopes.
PS: I think that before one deletes the Zone, if it's re-assigned to "none/NA/whatever" or even a new Dorf that has no reason to interact with it at the time of deletion should work to prevent a crash.
