Cloth Industry

I am trying to make cloth bags, I have pig tail cloth, workers, a cloth stockpile, workshop, my standing orders allow any cloth, and every time it queues the order it says there is no available cloth to use. I have no idea why it's doing this.

My first thought is that you might have mislinked a workshop to a stockpile possibly?

Forgot to mention that I don't have any linked stockpiles either. Whoops. It's just giving the cancel order over and over.

The only other thing I can think of is that the cloth is forbidden to use.

Cloth is special with materials it accept. "Make cloth bag" will take vegetal cloth, "Make silk cloth bag" will take cave spider silk and "Make yarn cloth bag" will take sheeps, yaks and whatnot processed yarn. Do note that it isn't an adjective found in the work order tab, those ARE the orders.

Did you took, like, yarn cloth bag by any chance ? Or maybe your cloth is actually stored in hospitals ?

Did you took, like, yarn cloth bag by any chance ? Or maybe your cloth is actually stored in hospitals ?

I tried to queue up all the types of bag orders to see if any would work, and it kept giving the same thing. Its super weird because occasionally they'll go and take the cloth that I told them to grab, but other times they just pretend it doesn't exist.

I am having this same problem as well as with iron smith, I have stockpile right next door and between that and clothing I keep gettig spammed unable to obtain cloth/iron bars.

I havent changed anything other than mostly default but does something get forbidden somehow? Or do work orders need to specify certain types? I just hit crank out 10 and 3

I hate to have to ask silly questions but...do you have iron bars in your stockpile?

To the OP, check to see if you have use only dyed cloth turned on in the standing orders. This is moot if some of your cloth has been dyed already. If you want to use dyed cloth dimple cups produce a dye when they are milled in a quern (needs empty bags for the dye powder though)
