Dwarfs not dumping

I have a dump area set outside that a few dwarfs used initially, but now nobody ever dumps anything. I have a bird corpse holding open my front door that let a thief in that nobody will move, and a bunch of random items in my fort.

I have a ton of stuff marked for dumping already but it still gets ignored.

I have had this issue - the priorites for the steam version seem wonky for dumping. You have to designate a person to ONLY do refuse work (It's also for dumping) - and they will eventually get to it. Make sure to click that hammer icon so it's red.

Check your standing orders (Labor > Standing orders > Refuse and Hauling) to see what is supposed to be interacted with. Additionally check to see that you have a corpse stockpile as well as a dumping zone. I tend to have both in the same area, indoors, with diagonal entrances with doors to block miasma.

Eventually they got to it after making a stockpile for corpses, but they still take quite a bit of time to dump corpses or junk I mark myself. My zones were outside, but only slightly to the left and up one layer of the hill I dug into for my fort so I wouldn't think that's a significant enough distance to play a factor in that.
