... but, if they had already claimed a tomb, while still alive, and knowing that I assigned none to anyone still kicking, would that enable me identifying the suspect or are they doppelgänger imitating someone that was once around?
How you get rid of them? Is it enough to deny them "ownership" of something?
It can also be really useful to keep two taverns - one outside of your defenses for visitors, and your main one just for long term and citizens. You'll notice people who shouldn't be there much faster, and it keeps other potential non-obvious threats at arms length.
