Kind of confused as to why I was banned from the Kitfox discord

So I was in a discussion revolving around violence in DF, how useless dwarven children are, and how to be rid of them through unfortunate accidents, everyone else in the discussion was participating, laughing about it while being respectful, and no one seemed bothered by it, but regardless a moderator stepped in to intervene.

They simply said to stop saying what we was saying, and so I did, I did exactly what I was told, and I was still banned.

I've been part of the Kitfox discord for over 5 years now, and I'm banned after pretty much making light of something dark.

If I crossed a line then I apologize, but it kind of hurts that after 5 years, I did exactly as I was told by the moderator, and was still banned, not muted or kicked, with no warning.

If I could get in touch with a moderator of the discord I'd like to talk about the matter

I didn't think I was bothering anybody, I did exactly what a moderator told me to do, and everyone else seemed fine with it.

If I crossed a line then I apologize, and I won't cross that line again, I just figured DF is an inherently brutal game, but maybe a took my conversation a bit too far, my bad.

Report that discord community back. Copy paste your entire case. Tweet about it. Put it in your steam review. This is blatant ignorance and behaviour the community shouldn't accept of their Dwarven allies...

My guess - and it's just a guess - would be that one moderator told you to stop and you did, and another happened upon part of the conversation later and banned you on sight.

But what if you kill all the kids, dont get migrants and your dwarfs get killed by FB, goblins or die of old age? Won't that end the !FUN! (fort)?

Nobles on the frontlines of danger are all fine, but kids? 12 years of waiting and some of them even become legnendary crafters upon reaching adulthood.

Why should we care who the developer is? He created something great over the course of 20 years which we are enjoying. I doubt that his private life should be a concern to us players.

There's a difference between you, a person who has legitimate criticisms of the game, and them, a person who likes to hide their more abhorrent thoughts behind 'subtle' wording.

I highly recommend not tossing yourself into the latter group in some ill-fated motion.

Can we please just keep politics out of gaming. There isnt a single field of entertainment which was improved by bringing politics into it.
So what if the developer has a personal opinion, lets please just not start with "Dont buy this because the dev is progressive/conservative", as long as he doesnt pack the game full of propaganda for his views we players shouldnt care.

I'm personally of the view that you can't exclude real world events and real people from things such as books or games. We are the creators and the users of these things; thus we'll inevitably impart our viewpoints upon them even if we attempt to not do so.

It's like trying to not breath. You can do so consciously but eventually you die or you take in a breath. Nothing exists in a vacuum after all.

Regarding OP's post, there's a serious lack of context for any of us to determine if they were banned fairly or not and ultimately it's out of our hands. They also edited the post to something very different from what it was originally.
They can easily contact any of the moderators or just email Kitfox or Bay12 directly.
Making this steam post is at best a foolish endeavor with a low chance of success.
