what's powder? what's quern?
i cant figure out if that's what i need or how to make a quern. anyone have step by step instructions how to make powder and if i need a quern. i wasn't sure what game meant by powder i have til next autumn. game is great but this vague information i get is not helping me. i barely figured out trading.

I haven't used one yet, but I believe a quern can crush certain materials into a powder form. For example, wheat into flour.

Powder is made from things like Longgrass or cavewheat or Dimples, crushing them at a quern made at a Stoneworker and then built somewhere using the farming workshop options. You can also get other powder from some plaster/stones like gypsum in a Kiln/furnace?

You need empty bags to fill in order for these jobs to work.

how deep do i need go for soil for underground plants?

Elevation 0 to 30 i found one cavern, -24 i found another, and there should be a third and something else special.

you can plant underground farms by making muddy floors with water or if you dig into soil or sand/loom you can plant a farm.

i guess you can plant in clay or sand or loam. at first layer underground. i thought i read somewhere need go deep for dense soil or something that's more fertile not sure it matters that much if food is food. don't know lots about game yet.

i sorta figured out potash but not completely seems need get it ready some time then use it spring or summer or something.
