Bayberry Trees

Is there a certain temperate that bayberry trees more frequently grow in? In heavily forested areas I either find them sparsely or not at all. Looking to brew and eat them. Is there any way to change their frequency other than editing the raw files, or is finding a zone with an excess of bayberry trees just up to pure luck?

How do you eat bayberry trees I just cut all of mine down! AAA the elves are gonna be so mad at me ;-;

Just don't cut a few of them down and you can brew enough from the berries they drop to sustain your fort for a long time. I would just cut around them next time. Having a hard time find a good pack of them myself, though I've seen other forts with entire groves of them.

Do you remember if the temperate when you chose to embark there was coniferous, broadleaf or taiga?

Ahh, now it makes sense. Thank you. Must be Taiga temperates they spawn the most in.
