{TLDR} The simple answer is the more stuff they have the better it is (not just a bed). Unaware of something to see room quality at the moment.
Yes, thank you - I know this (even though I don't quite know exactly what does what). But my question was how do I see what state a room is in? As of now, the only way I can se this is to assign the room to a dwarf and then go back to the room assignment list and see what kind of room I just assigned. That's where I can see "meager bedroom" etc.
It ought to be possible to look diectly at the room, somehow, and see if it's modest, legendary etc.
It IS possible in the classic version. There you can press 'R' to get a list of your rooms, including those descriptions. But that seems to be missing in the Steam version, sadly.
