The official dwarf fortress forums have some extensive topics on world generation, but note that the map gen settings uploaded there will be for the old version, the new version will have different results. world gen cookbook thread[www.bay12forums.com]
Note that setting some "detailed mode" world gen settings to unexpected values may lead to map rejections. it may take some trial and error to get things right.
Yep, figured as much. Did some googling already and couldnt quite figure out how to formulate the world settings tho. Maybe i'm just dumb (entirely possible, ngl) x.x
When you google you will find many references to world_gen.txt. instead of working with the in game menu you could also edit this file. I think that file is saved in a different location now compared to the old version, under prefs, and only present if you have saved any alternate world settings. make sure you backup the file before messing with it, I don't know if the old world gen format is compatible with the new version.
Thank you so much! I appreciate it :)
Oh yay, blood snow. xD
