the save games of this game can become rather hefty in size but even still this feature is sorely missed atm.

Having 2 saves going makes me treat my dwarves as a bit more... expendable

Would love to be able to manage my fortress from different devices without hassle. Please add Steam Cloud Saves soon! +1

Yeah, just made my save directory a dropbox directory that I sync to all of my devices. Works well (been doing this for minecraft for ages).

My kid has a lower end streamdeck and confirmed it does indeed run.

To be honest, the steam deck runs this better than my PC from 2018. What the deck lacks in graphics it more than makes up for in processing power, and my PC which balanced my budget between CPU and GPU manages to perform worse as the GPU is quite underutilized.

Since DF is also heavy on keyboard shortcuts, its almost perfect for the steamdeck with all the customizable buttons. Its already become by go-to steamdeck game while my PC I save for more graphically intensive titles

prob wont happen because save files are too large and the publisher pays the bill

I like to play between my Desktop and Laptop. I would prefer a streamlined approach.

As a little solution proposal maybe only 1 or 2 save game slots could be marked as the "synced" ones, so that steam does not automatically sync all 10 of your parallel time lines which are 50-200MB each. Something that makes this more realistic considering the file sizes.

Kitfox/Bay would likely have to pay extra money to handle the GB's of users DF saves, or perhaps its not even an option for them at all because Valve doesn't want to deal with 1000s of different games with large save files.
Well they have the money now don't they?

The devs don't see suggestions except if you post them on the Bay12Games forums.
