How to remove rubble/rocks from the floor?
Newbie question, but is there a way to remove the random rubble/rocks from the floor once you dig out a room?

You need to mark it for dumping and have some dump zone nearby, dwarves will haul it. They will haul it into a stone stockpile too, but you need to have some free space in it.

You could also do the "quantum stockpile" method. Way too long to describe in this post, but you can search that on the web.

Really, either method Viik mentioned are the best ways for you to go for now.

Having a rock stockpile and enough hauler dwarves will also fix this.

Oh, and by the way, it is a good idea to make some wheelbarrows and assign multiple to your stone stockpiles. It is faster/easier for the dwarves to move stone with them.

You can change the number of wheelbarrows in the button on the stockpile that has the barrel icon. It is the same button for changing barrels, bins and wheelbarrows.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Is there a short cut key for selecting multiple ores/rocks for dumping?
