I randomly found my tavern zone being called "Unnamed sculpture garden" after placing 4 statues to decorate it. So my guess, not verified yet, is that build enough statues inside a meeting zone and it'll dedicate it as a sculpture garden.

Have had 10 golden statues in a guild hall and temples and never became sculpture gardens. Would be cool if someone smarter then I knew this answer.

With a guick test, it does seem to work fine for me no matter what I designate the meeting zone as. I made a 7x7 area, smoothed it out and placed 1 statue in it, nothing else, and it was called an Unnamed Sculpture Garden, and just a basic Meeting area: https://imgur.com/a/4TIbBmU

Even if I chose tavern, temple, or guild hall, it still stayed as an unnamed sculpture garden as the room subtype. There's probably no main zone type you can designate for a sculpture garden currently, so it just exists as a sub one for the mains.

You are a great dwarf!

I ended up with one because I dumped a load of nice statues in there, including gold. I don't know the mechanics, but it's probably a value thing. ie: If xx value vs space comes from Statues, there ya go.

This sounds like the most likely explanation.
