Is there a way to check if a trade depot is wagon accessible in this version?
I'm making a long ramp into my trade depot, and it looks like I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up somewhere because the wagons were left behind. Is there a way to check the depot accessibility like in classic?

After doing some testing, it looks like while you can still place a trade depot in an inaccessible place, the dwarves won't build it. So if you have a completed depot, it is accessible.

hrm... that's unfortunate. I'd still like to be able to SEE it... maybe we don't NEED to see it, but it would still give me warm fuzzies.

Doesn't seem that way

Shoot, I was looking up to ask the same thing :/ if the D shortcut can't work with this version for some reason, maybe they should add checking the route as an option from the depot building itself?

Does the wagon not join the map if it cant reach? Since i'v not seen one.

Yeah, wagons need a 3 wide path to reach the depot. If there isn't one, they only bring their oxen. This is bad, because they carry a lot fewer goods, and their carrying capacity is a lot lower, so you can't sell as much.

In addition to there no longer be a "check depot accessibility" button, I think Toady mentioned at some point that there would be some slight changes to how caravans work in 0.50, possibly only having wagons once you've made a few good trades with the civ.

If I dig a 3 wide channel to an underground depot - is that wide enough, or does it need to be 5 wide? I.e. if I dig a 3 wide (vertical) channel on 1 level, go down and dig another 3 wide channel that's to the right 1, and go down and dig another 3 wide channel that's to the right 1 again, and finally a long 3x20 room (not channel) at the bottom that is a hallway leading to a room with the depot, the 3x20 room will not have ramps on the sides (top and bottom), but the ramps going upward will have ramps on the sides (top and bottom) which I wonder if those block the wagon and I needed to make them 5 wide instead of only 3?

5X5 Seems to be safe

Are wagons even in this version? I ve had only the first dwarven caravan and I'm pretty sure it was just dwarves and a donkey. And I've seen a couple of videos too and definitely there were no trader's wagons either. I'm starting to think that they couldn't find a way to represent the wagon moving with the new graphics and cut it out.

Wagons are definitely in this version, I'm getting them in my fort

I asked in the DF discord and was told you can't even build a trade depot in an inaccessible spot.

Now what happens when you build one and it later becomes inaccessible due to tree growing or mining something was something I was going to test, but haven't gotten around to yet.

<Edit: didn't get this info from anyone official on discord, just another user.... no idea of accuracy!>
