Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

What MODs are you waiting for?
So, those of you who come from the original Dwarf Fortress, what mods are you looking forward to seeing restored to this version? Are there any mods you hope a new, larger community will develop?

I never played the original Dwarf Fortress as I was intimidated by its steep learning curve and difficult interface. I'm so excited to finally have a chance to play this legendary game!

Yeah, I've heard that one mentioned. Apparently it helps a lot with keeping "fun" from spiraling out of control.

Hope someone is already working on it!

Smooth cell movement animations and scrolling. icons on inventory and workshop items etc. Not restored but a minimum requirement to make the game a bit fun for the eyes.

Man, it would be great if those are possible. I don't know enough about modding/programming to know what can be done.

Masterwork, definitely.

I second to that. I want to play other races especially Human, would also be Fun If Elds are added.

Sound Sense for me. I'm missing all of the old SFX. Would likely make alerts a damn sight more noticeable as well.

Dwarf Therapist is basically Rimworld's priority system, but even deeper. It's excellent, but it goes along with a program called DF Hack, which adds a lot of QOL implementations and options to your fort-ing. I'm sure they're working on it, but it'll be months (most likely) before we see it.

I really want some dfhack options, although I suspect it will take quite some time. Things like planned furniture placement are essential

I need to construct specific stair type(upward, downward, up/down).
once you accidentally delete upward stair at very bottom, your stair stack is not downward-expandable anymore.

Civilian Alerts. Pet passable door settings. Interior/exterior door settings. Ammo management (screw you if you say this isn't important, I'm not having dwarfs waste adamantine bolts on target practice). Therapist cause the job system is horrible. A bunch of other OG crap that was tossed out for some reason.

Automatic dwarf manager, probably Stonesense too :P

Wow, I'm starting to wonder if I should wait a month or so until these mods are done. I know Rimworld is practically unplayable to me these days without the quality of life mods I've gotten used to.

I'd love a Dwarf Fortress version of "Prepare Carefully" that would let me choose my starting Dwaves quirks.

As a big fan of perfect world, would like to see something like that implemented.

Create the perfect embark. Also I need embark anywhere.

Edit: sorry didn't say, perfect world was a world generation tool that let you get very detailed with it.
