Do you mean you want to setup a stockpile for bins? Or you want bins to be used in say, a block stockpile?

its been a while sinse i playd , is there a way to get rid of blood on floor ? best way to get rid of items that make miasma etc

In general: dwarfs will automatically pick empty bins/barrels for storage, if applicable. Storage must have empty space and other parameters set, but by default it should just work. For general understanding I recommend to read wiki: https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Using_bins_and_barrels
Ofcourse some things could changed in steam version.

ohh my nvm, i see the setting now for barrles/crates, how on earth i did not see that , my bad, and if you may for my second question over here , if you pleas :)
If you select the stockpile, you should get a window pop up with information about it?

Click on the barrel icon (bottom right of the window I think) to open a second window which lets you assign a maximum number of barrels or bins to that stockpile.

maby you can help out with this as well .. " is there a way to get rid of blood on floor ? best way to get rid of items that make miasma etc " its been a while so i dont udnerstand how to deal with this yet. i know i made a hole in the ground before several times deep but it does not look like i can make a hole for refuse now, aka rotten bodies etc.

Body parts and the like are in their own stockpile. If I recall correctly it's under "refuse"
Empath demon Dec 7, 2022 @ 2:25am
body parts of sentient creatures is the "corpses" stockpile not "refuse". Blood alone does not create miasma, but will be cleaned up eventually when a dorf with cleaning labor gets around to it.

Ah yeah you're right, my mistake on that.
I’m only going from what I’ve read online rather than personal experience but I believe setting up a stockpile outside and customising it to accept refuse and maybe corpses and body parts too, should help deal with miasma?

It’ll probably need to be quite a big stockpile.

Later on I guess you could set up a more permanent refuse disposal system with magma or something?

I should say that I’m pretty much a DF newbie, so I’m learning this as I go. On the other hand I don’t have to overcome years of muscle memory for the old interface, which probably helps!
