The old combat logs were a big part of the story telling.
On a side note, if combat started in the old version (I can't remember) did it pause the game? I swear I end up completely missing out when anything happens in this version.
ya i got into the game with this release, watched some videos/guides. quickly realized this was missing and I'm putting the game down to come back and get into it/learn it once its here. Following the story, the exact events, combat turn by turn etc etc - this kind of detail is why im playing this and not something else. The fact this isn't here, is a huge turn off!
I can tell this is an amazing game, and I know its a super small team - I'm sure they'll get it added.
But im stepping away until they do, i want to learn this game and delve into it with those kind of abilities to follow along, and I'm just not into the ASCII graphics of the original, so. Here's to hoping its added in soon!
The missing logs plus no annoucement for caravans are the 2 things that made me not play the Steam version anymore. The messed up logs make it impossible to kill werebeasts with military, at least I couldn't figure out how to make sure if anybody had been bitten.
I think I am going back to the swan man necromancer adventurer I started on in the previous version.
But it will get fixed pretty soon.

MRAU UI
It has combat log and you can check health status of your citizens. It is new so there are some bugs but who cares since vanilla alternative is nothing atm.
