Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

How are wild animals using my doors and walking into my fortress.
Like it says, I checked the Dwarf wiki on doors and Im not seeing anything about this, Crundles, and elk birds and Imps are just opening my doors and walking in. I thought doors are supposed to keep anything under the tag of wild animal out.

You'll have to bar the door in this version, click the door, click the lock button, and the door -should- to my knowledge now be locked. It's a bit more fiddly I'll grant you but.

The dwarf wiki is outdated now, since this is the first day of the new version.

It's a new version, so I'm not 100% but I would hope it would work like the old version, where locking (or whatever the old mechanic was) keeps animals from crossing, which isn't the same as "forbidding" it (dwarves don't touch it).

Yes, barring the door will keep your dwarfs from using it.

I do suggest with the case of the caverns that you instead set up a gate- it won't keep out things that can break down a gate [Read: Bridge, you set up a bridge.] Rather then a set of doors, I also suggest that you basically wall off your section of the cavern and expand out that way.

Least the forgotten get hungry.
