Dwarf Fortress

Dwarf Fortress

All Dwarfs stopped doing anything.
All of my dwarves have suddenly stopped doing anything, despite them all having jobs assigned and things to do in those jobs.

They're all just sat by the trading outpost, not even eating/drinking/sleeping or anything like that, the only dwarf doing anything is my fisherman.

Try a simple chop down tree task, or mine task. If they don't do anything reset your game.
They could be sleeping (but it doesn't take them very long to sleep).

Nope. Interestingly they moved closer towards the chop tree task but just don't do it. They've been stuck like this for 1-2 in game days. The only thing they'll do is fish, interestingly enough.

Had the same issue, all my dwarves stopped doing even the most basic of tasks like mining, they were listed as having no job. I tried directly assigning jobs to the Dwarves and that didn't work. Had to start a new world

Aren't they throwing a party ? It happens occasionally.
Most Dwarves will stop working to attend.

Some party if it's for two days straight lmao. I gave up in the end and started a new fortress.

I have played the game for years, never seen anything like it. 20+ dwarves keep stacking up not moving and dehydrating to death in the cavern. I have tried multiple saves before it happens and they continue to find a spot and stop moving. They do not even respond to burrows. Don't try and tell me its some feature, I have seen it all. This is a new game breaking glitch since the steam release happened.

Having the same issue too, dwarves are slowly piling up in this one area in deep caverns and not responding to combat or tasks that the game says they are attempting to do. They definately have a path out and are starving and dehydrated despite access to food and drink (and even one of them is carrying a waterskin of wine :P)

♥♥♥♥. This seems to be a new steam version issue, try emailing the creator the broken saves, this would probably be a priority fix
In the case of OP that kinda sounds like a burrow was created.

Had this happen as well around year 6, tried every suggestion I could find online, ended up having to abandon and reclaim the fortress, super annoying.

I feel your pain maybe reload a previous save or sol as far as i know.

Same problem, all my dwarfs are congregated in the tavern and have stopped building anything, their mood is ok and they have tasks with paths to them fine. They just mill around not working. Its been several seasons.

Make bug reports here[www.bay12games.com].

Upload save files (to assist with bug identification) here[dffd.bay12games.com].

p.s. You can't upload the .sav file, so I just zip the region folder at M:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\save
