To move furniture, you can click the object in question and look at the top right in the window that pops up. There'll be an option to name the object as well as "Remove this building". If you click remove, your dwarves will come and take the object back to any relevant stockpile.

Once they remove the object from it's original location, you can simply place it again like you did originally.

It will stay in place if they never haul it from the spot but not be placed as furniture, letting you place it elsewhere.

Your dwarves may also be stuck doing other tasks first.

Doesn't work for me, they should move it by one square and that's it, after that, the option isn't available anymore.
Then they've moved it and it's a loose item. You need to place it somewhere else or have them haul it to storage.

Deconstruction basically just "uninstalls" it. What's done with the item is after is a different matter.

If it moves one square, it's been deconstructed and can now be moved somewhere else, either to a stockpile or it can be rebuilt somewhere else
