Any way to disable aquifer?
Is there any way to disable it during world generation? It was possible with mods before...

Not sure, but I noticed some map tiles seem to generate without one...? Or at the very least, with differing degrees of aquifer. So if all else fails, just find the most favorable map with regards to aquifers.

Edit: Never mind, I could have sworn that I saw one.. My brain must have seen something that wan't there.
I should probably get that checked.

That's the one! I knew that I saw it.
Question to my own brain: Why do you keep doing stuff like this to me?

aquifers I would avoid as a beginner player, they can be a great water source. You can embark with them not completely covering the map so you dig off to one side and then get under them, but its fiddly...

honestly, why is "disable aquifers" not in the advanced world generation screen. I'm really surprised its not there.

You dig through them and wall them up like a giga-chad, that is how you disable them.

That doesn't disable them. It's just a pain, having digging constantly interrupted so you can further micro-manage. The game has enough depth that the additional aggravation is not interesting.

Acquifers cannot be disabled I believe. But you can embark in a location that doesn't have one--Think ot Embark locations as the game's difficulty modifier, in terms of who your neighbouring civilizations are, whether there's an acquifer or not, and whether the biome is good/neutral/evil.

Acquifers are a really annoying obstacle for new players, but they also are a great source for infinite clean and safe water. While healthy Dwarves won't drink it, you'll need water for your hospitals and irrigating crops and some other stuff I probably forgot about. And fetching water from the surface or the caverns can be dangerous or outright impossible. So you might want to think twice before disabling them completely...

Yeeeaaahhhh... No.
Disabling and being forced to work around something because there's nothing else you can do is not... "disabling".
