Is there an easy way to find which dwarves are the most skilled for a specific job?

I haven't found anything in the UI that seems to help your decision, except for checking each dwarf individually.

Probably not. This game, before its steam launch, required several mods and a third part program called dwarf therapist to make it playable. Those mods, nor dwarf therapist have been rolled into the steam release, and are not compaitable with it. Good look.

I haven't found the solution to this either. It's been a long time since I played, but I certainly feel like I'm already missing Dwarf Therapist.

If you select a labor group in the screen that has "who can mine" and such, relevant skills will show up on the line below each dwarf's name. At the start of the tutorial embark and with the mining labor selected, one dwarf pops to the top of the list with "adequate Miner", and the other dwarves have no listed skill, since they don't start of with mining.
