What is the "stone cutter" labor?

long time player, unsure what stone cutter labor refers to. is it gem cutting?

My masons aren't the ones making my rock furniture. Instead, some random dorf is doing it and they are now a dabbling stone carver.

And I also have a few dabbling stonecutters which I think came from making stone blocks.

No idea what the masons do now.

masons are the old architects that use stone, according to another forum thread.

Mason = Builds constructions out of stone (Classic Building Designer)
Engraver = Same as classic, engraves natural stone walls (Seemingly steam version also lets you engrave constructed stone walls)
Stonecraft = Craftdwarve's workshop
Stonecarver = Anything inMason's workshop (Except stone blocks)
Stonecutter = Smooth natural stone walls AND makes stone blocks

A month late to the convo, but..... if masonry is making stone constructions.... What is the Wall/Floor Construction and Road Building labors for... This is confusing the hell outta me.

So

Stone Carving : Anything other than blocks in the mason table (Maybe? Needs Confirmation)

Stone Cutting : Smoothing rough walls and floors (Tested via disabling all but stonecutting and having them do smoothing)

Stone Engraving : Engraving smooth walls and smooth floors with Runes (Tested via disabling all but engraving and having them do engraving)

Stone Crafting : for all stone crafts at the craftdwarf table (Maybe? Needs Confirmation)

Road Building : Building Roads (Tested via disabling all but Road Building and having them do Road Building (Including stone))

Wall Floor Construction : Building walls and floors. Including stone. (Tested via disabling all but Wall/Floor Construction and having them do Wall/Floor Construction jobs (Including stone))

Masonry : Building Constructions out of stone.

Whats the difference between a construction and a wall/floor/road? So is Masonry *only* making blocks? Just a bit of elaboration please :)

Think Masonry pretty much just replaces the old Architect skill, they used to plan some structures like roads, wells and trade depots

Masonry is used for architecture structures that use stone (wells, bridges, archery targets).

Carpentry is used for architecture structures that use wood (wells, bridges, archery targets).

Yea it's a mess. Apparently wall/floor construction and road building is skillless and masonry is only used for other stuff.

Still not sure if we have all of this figured out. I'm assuming the wiki is correct here:

Mason is the skill associated with the masonry labor. Masons are responsible for constructing certain buildings out of stone, specifically trade depots, bridges, furnaces, and wells, and their building quality[Verify] and value[Verify] are influenced by the mason's skill.

The mason skill is not used when constructing things like walls, floors, stairs, or roads, even if they are made from stone blocks. Those types of things use the Wall/Floor construction and Road building labors and have no corresponding skill.

In previous versions the Mason is what is now a Stone carver.

The guy above says Masons construct buildings out of stone, like trade centers, etc. Not 100% sure thats true since Ive got several masons and Im *still* waiting for them to build my trade center. And Ive got no bridges furnaces wells, etc to build.

stonecutting is to cut Stone in blocks and smoothing the walls...
stone carving is to carve funrinture from stone blocks

Ok... so again, Masonry is for all constructions *other* than walls and roads? Everyone keeps talking about all the masonry skills, but the constructions skills should honestly be part of them.... Or at least grouped near.
