Dwarf Fortress

Canceling mining
Did anyone figure out yet how to cancel a mining order? I played through the tutorial but it is relatively short. :)

In general the game looks awesome and I cannot wait to get my fortress going.

There's an erase option at the bottom bar. Hotkey x

Thank you for a quick response! Appreciate it! :)

This didn't work for me. The erase button isn't grayed out, but clicking it doesn't do anything, neither does pressing "X".

Are you still in the tutorial? Devs had an "ingenious" (imagine quotation marks being about 100 times larger) idea to disable it in the tutorial

Are you doing the tutorial per chance?
I know that i also had such issues until I completed it.

Yes, I'm still in the tutorial. That's retarded, but that must be the issue then, thanks!

It really is. Cancelling is so essential it should've been it's own tutorial step right after the navigation, not be disabled until the final step of the tutorial

I am not sure what problem you are facing so none of this may help, but...

Can you blueprint in the tutorial.? If so does it help to convert the active mine squares into blueprint ones. Don;t know if that would help.

Overwriting mining designations is perfectly normal. So say you wanted stairs but you chose dig. Simply redo over the top and it will replace them.

Finally, you can designate priorities to leave those wrongly designated till last.
