Default work details?
Any idea what exactly the default work details are set to? You can't customize them (yikes) and they have no other UI for listing what's enabled on them. Does Stonecutting encompass all of Stoneworking? What do you turn on to enable Carpentry? Did Toady really think people would want random dwarves doing any available job? So many questions!

I'm quite confused by this as well. Why not give us the option to customize and/or delete the existing work details? And stonecutting seems to be a new category. Would be good to know what it includes...

Stonecutting is just Masonry, I guess renamed to go with Stone Carving. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how work details/specialization works with regards to actually getting things done.

Specialists will only work on things you set them to, but you -can- set up your own with the labor menu- hotkey y, green text saying "Add a new work detail."

The non-specialists will do basically all the labor that is open to everyone, "everyone will do this, only selected does this, nobody does this."

I would love if the Defualt Work Details, were just custom work details that you started with. The ability to rename, modify what the detail covers, and even remove it if i see fit would be a great change for these. At this point my fort is specialized enough that the defualt details are just bloat in my list.

Same here. This would be an easy and good QoL adjustment

Would be a great suggestion for the vanilla game. Sadly, this is not the best spot for that. Very unlikely to get seen here, but maybe on the Kitfox games discord. (DF publisher)
