Can night trolls show up in fortress mode?

I just got bored and was refreshing myself about a lot of things in DF in preparation for the steam release and remembered I dont think ive ever seen a night troll outside of legends or adventure mode, do they even show up in fortress mode at all

At the moment, nah.
They only show up at night in adventure mode, (kinda like Boogeymen and others) and currently there isn't really a 'nighttime' in fortress mode. Days are kinda.. compressed, and time flows at a different rate.

However, tons of other creatures just as horrifying and worse than them can and will show up eventually to munch on your dwarves :D

I haven't dug deep (heh) into fort since Villains was first implemented. Heard 'em say in a stream that there are heists now?

And probably other things like special monsters I think, can show up to forts.

Yes, rarely. If you happen to embark on a night troll lair, they will be present. Oddly enough they generally just chill out in their little pit unless something like a cat runs in and leads them back to your wagon in the first 30 seconds.
