It also has a custom soundtrack as well
What the hell are you talking about? I played DF like 6 years ago and had a graphics pack that displayed things as such.
It is on Phoebus by default. But I'd recommend changing it to Mayday on the graphics tab, and then clicking install, as it's very clear (to me) and he also helped make the tileset in the trailer. Like look at this Mayday[dwarffortresswiki.org]vs Phoebus[dwarffortresswiki.org] But I guess the closest to the cartoony/bright/super undwarfy clean look in the trailer(I'm totally not biased) has to be Spacefox[dwarffortresswiki.org]
Visit the dwarf fortress wiki page on tilesets for a (slightly outdated) comparison between some other graphic sets here: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Graphics_set_repository (DF2014 on the wiki means the most recent large(like, years in the making) version change of DF, it's still up to date)
The starter pack also has a bunch more tilesets, as well as many options for optimising the game and options you'd never see unless you dived into the games .txt files. It also includes DFhack which you can turn off, but it does add several bug fixes and tweaks as well as allow multi-level view(a fading view of lower levels below the one you're on) and other features
If you experience lag you may have to turn off multi-level view, or generate smaller worlds/embark on smaller areas with shorter histories in only the tens of years. Possibly even limit population to 120 at the lowest if you want to experience all the fortress mode offers

Hey just thought I'd mention I was in no way belittling anyone who plays with different tilesets than me, was just some dry humour. If the default tileset isn't to your liking anyway you'll be able to change once other graphic packs have updated, which would most likely be within the week of release. They might look even better since Toady is allowing graphic packs to change 'more' if they want
