So, after steam release there will be only one thing dat stop me from dive in DF - a tonn, i mean megatonn of narration.
Is there localisation in plans?
If yes then +1 for russian.
p.s. if u will seek localisation, maybe u be able follow team cherry steps on this way, because dn how but hollow knight translated (on ru atleast) perfectly whyle most other indie games often screw in this.

The main issue is that the game is still really in flux with features and such. Localization would not be a one time cost thing but an ongoing one.

it seems very unlikely they'd want to dump a ton of money into localization only to have to keep redoing it constantly

The game is highly modable and I know ther ar some translation projects for the game on their forums for other languages

Maybe when the game comes out, with workshop support, the community could come around a fan translation project.

Перевод на русский язык невозможен из-за особенностей оного и из-за того, что большая часть текста в игре генерируется. Собственно, какие-никакие русификаторы уже существуют, но из-за вышеперечисленных причин смысла его использовать нет.

Russian localization is impossible cause of some specificity of the language and cause most part of in-game text is generated. Russian localization is already exist but there are no sense to use it (tried my best, don't beat me please).

I will wait for the translation of the game into Russian before I buy it. If you look at the Steam statistics, then it is clear that Russian is the third most popular language of this platform.

As EvilTeron said, it's pretty much impossible to translate Dwarf Fortress. Translating the menus, sure, that not an issue. But a huge part of the game is combat logs, and long descriptions for your artifacts, your dwarves and their thoughts, And all those are generated from a bunch of components. You could translate all components separately (which would be the only way to translate them) but you'd end up with syntax so horrible even a two-years old would tell you it's wrong.

Although i understand where you're coming from, as a non english native speaker, just learn and practice the damn language.

Let's be real here, english is the most useful skill to have when utilizing the internet and i've always had a tiny bit of a sour spot for people that cry for translations instead of going out and learning one of the internet's main languages.

although to be fair, most of that sourness comes from the asian market review bombing games because their entitled asses can't learn a language even if their lives depended on it.

Full localization is not possible, as I understood from the previous discussion. In this case, I have two requests to the game developer.
1. Move the localization of game menus into a separate text file for easy translation into other languages. This also applies to add-ons, such as "Dwarf Therapist".
2. Add the ability to copy message texts from the game to the clipboard (for example, via a hot key)

Полная локализация невозможно, насколько я понял из предыдущего обсуждения. В таком случае у меня две просьбы к разработчику игры.
1. Вынести локализацию игровых меню в отдельный текстовый файл для удобства перевода на другие языки. Это касается и дополнений, например "Dwarf Therapist".
2. Добавить возможность копировать из игры тексты сообщений в буфер обмена (например, по горячей клавише)
