Can the dwarfs gamble with each other and or other races?

Gambling and bets wasn't a uncommon thing in the old storys about the dwarfs in norse mytology.

No no, gambling really hasn't been implemented in Dwarf Fortress. I like the idea, especially with how hilarious it could be, but there hasn't been a focus to develop a gambling system in the game.

Gambling's probably coming in the economy release, which would probably be along the lines of version 0.9X.XX. Tarn's probably gonna be dead by then unless he clones himself with a self made cloning machine.

Considering the state of the world in DF, I'm pretty sure someone has already pissed off the gods, and Armok in particular.

I have seen dwarves gamble in Legends mode. It's something they can do in world gen, but I don't think they can do it after that point.
