Dark Ages have fallen upon the world of Dwarf Fortress!

Dark Ages IV is an add-on mod for Dwarf Fortress under development since 2013. It adds content to vanilla DF mostly in the form of high horror monsters and magical arts. But also, new weapons, buildings, tons of new pets, and 30+ adventure classes.

After Dwarf Fortress releases on Steam, I will be adding a new edition of this mod to the Steam workshop - once testing runs smoothly. In the past, it has ranged from hours to months to update.

Until then, feel free to reach out with any feedback in this thread or the Bay 12 Games forum.

@vitowns - Hi, thank you. I'm sorry for the trouble. Here is the check list for worldgen crashing in DA:III

-Use Advanced World Parameters [150-years old]
-Run with DFHack off during world gen
-Restart your PC[?]
-Try generating worlds on a different PC[?]

There is evidence this is related to a bug in world seed generation.

That last one is weird but apparently sometimes worlds gen perfectly fine on one PC but not another. DA:III exasperates any rare issues in vanilla world gen. There is no clear reason for this, no error messages or much consistency.

The current version [v38b] is stable on my PC making it very difficult to offer even a work around outside of uploading worlds. (Which I've done in the past for fun and easy access to diverse worlds.)

Good. Once you have generated a world DA:III is as stable as vanilla.

I recently got this mod and had been playing with it on adventure mode but theres a glitch i cant seem to use corpses to raise the undead or summon hell dogs etc. what should i do?
