Is it normal that resources are so scarce throughout the game?

Is it normal that resources (gold and wood) are so scarce throughout the game? I only ever heard that others had plenty gold and wood at the end of the game and that fully upgrading the camp is easy... But now I'm basically at the end of chapter 5, am still missing lots of camp upgrades and haven't crafted more than a handful of cards because i wanted to be sure to finish my camp. Did they patch the amount of resources you get? I played on the hardest difficulty btw.

If you do all the puzzle-battles and find every chest in the locations then by the end you should have enough to upgrade everything and then some.

I collected everything and I am still short. Do you know if you get different amounts of resources on harder difficulty?

I played on hardest too (aside from final battle). Could be that different choices give differing rewards... I don't hink that they re-balanced anything this late after release (unless they did for the Gwent integration, maybe try asking on it's forums as well).

I played this game about a year ago and and never had this issue. I believe there is a bug in the game where the resources you get is lowered buy a digit. So instead of 50 I get 5. Last time I played I had way too many coins and not enough wood. But now I don't even have enough coin to unlock all the upgrades. There is a problem in the game files right now I believe.

I'm having the same problem and it's pissing me off. Every resource pile is giving me some silly amount like 16 gold and 11 wood. How on earth are you supposed to upgrade anything? I'm in act 5 as well and still need tens of thousands of gold and wood to upgrade the army camp, and I have barely crafted two dozen cards throughout the entire game. I also collected every single loot pile, chest, did every puzzle, battle, event,....

Resources granted change depending on difficulty. Sometimes, in Bone Breaker difficulty you'll get nothing but scraps. Players can changed difficulty to Adventure mode when picking up resources, and switch back to harder level for card battles.

Having the same problem-- act 5 and I changed to hardest difficulty a while back because it was so stupidly easy (still is), but now I'm getting 16 gold on each pile I find? Makes me wonder if they even tested the game after the 1st two maps.

Didn't have a problem with the upgrading, units don't really matter, you unlock dwarves and later the crazy powerful skellige units. I recommend keeping Eyuck whenever you can. Hes important to beating the game, really strong against monsters with the manticore trophy.

Use scouts frequently on the map to find every possible resource, and buy the Trading Post upgrade so you can swap gold for wood and vice versa.

If you need more resources (or want to get the full upgrade achievement), don't collect resource on hard mode. For example, in chapter 4, druid gave you 1000 gold 500 wood in easy mode; 800G 400W in normal mode; 100G 375W in hard mode.

I played 40hours on hard mode, im on the final battle, cant do anything cuz I craft a special deck for the boss, collected all the ressources in the game btw, trading fast at chapter 4, after 40hours, I just need to restart the game... NICE :)

This stuff sure is making me re-think all my choices where I did the "good" thing but cost myself resources.

I'd played 69 hours with the same rezult:) Even publiced negative review.
I'd lost all my wood and gold twice - in Mahakam and in Swamp in scenario events.
And have played control deck all game long and have no resources to craft special deck for the final boss
