Is there much to the management side of the game?
Again, think telltale. The main components were a good story (allegedly), story choices and quicktime events
In this game, the main components are a good story, story choices and gwent. And some minor camp management (upgrading stuff with resources you find, very minimal).
I would say the main focus of this game is the story and the choices you make (they even have a mode where they let you skip the battles), but if you dont like gwent then you probably wont get enough out of this game at full price, as ive played maybe 80 gwent battles so far by act 4.
I've never played a telltale game before, but I can guess. I think I will pass on this title, thanks for your response.
Have you read the books? Reason I ask is I am curious where this fits in the timeline? Is it basically right after Geralt bails on Meve during the books (because he's looking for Ciri).
I'm actually in the process of reading the books at the moment, which is why this game coming about was really really good timing (mentions a few of the characters from the books).
<SPOILERS FOR BOOKS AHEAD>
You are basically playing a Meve just as the second Nilfgaard invasion starts. You are coming home from that council that was held with the other kings of the north, where they were discussing what to do with Ciri (Killing her was the eventual decision), and promising aid to each other if Nilfgaard invades.
Obviously Nilfgaard invades and you play as Meve dealing with that.
Didn't realize you had read the books, if you have I would say the value of this game goes way up. Feels really cool playing a character who gets to make choices during a pretty exciting part of "Witcher Universe" lore.
So if i remember right, its before Geralt and Meve meet (though i have suspicions that this meeting will happen during the game)
