Can't 'un-hide'

So halfway through a play through, going for the 'no restarts' one on the 2nd to last map.
I've hidden in a box, and now I can't get back out.

pressed every key on the KB/M
Held every key, also.

given up, restarting, no hiding in a crate this time.

What's the default? I can't even find one for this particular action under 'keybinds'

I've rebound E, I think. I bound it back to it's original, but hasn't worked properly since.
So it's probably a rebind issue;
Incidentally I have the same issue in Borderlands 3, where I can't rebind the T key to secondary.
