I think it has to be the melee combo/chain kill.

How did you get it to work? When I sneak up behind a pair of NPCs, press V to attack one of them, then press V to attack the second in rapid succession I don't get any chain credit. Is there a specific key combination that is needed? Or perhaps a skill that I am missing?

U need to buy a specific skill first. And u have to press the direction key show on screen (ie. if the direction point ahead then u need to press W after the first takedown), not pressing V twice

I've got the skill, and I've pressed the arrow while attempting the chain take down. The only thing I can think of that I may be doing wrong is, I tend to "hold" the "V" key while performing the take downs. When doing a take down, do you just "tap" the "V" key? or are you supposed to hold it? And, if doing a chain? Do you hold it through both, or just tap it for the first then hit the arrow?
I cant' seem to get this thing to work for me. It's like, the arrow pops up and disappears before I can get more than a 'glimps' of it, and by that time, the second guy is shooting at me.
"HELP"?

It's not just you. This ability, like much of the game, is great on paper, crap in execution. I can't get mine to work more than maybe 40% of the time. I've been told the game can't tell there's another enemy nearby, so a good idea is to initiate the chain kill where both guards are in your vision cone, but that doesn't seem to have made an appreciable difference for me.

This is odd, as the chain kill ability was in SGW 3, and it worked like a charm there.

How you advance the game and degrade your own mechanics, I'll never know.

I'm pretty sure u can't chain kill 2 guards PATROLLING, even when they are walking really close to each other.
It only works when both guards are standing still.

Don't know why does this happen because like u said, chain kill in sgw3 works really well.

…….are you serious?

….it only works when....when they're standing still.

*rubs eyes and sighs*

Thanks. I'll try that, see if it works. God I'll be equally relieved and disgusted if it does.

I got it now - The targets can't be walking - they must stand still (not patrolling) AND stand next to each other - throw a stone so they look away from you - move up to them and don't tuch any WASD when the meele menu appears - tab the V to attak and then look for the direction arrow for the chain kill - once that appears - tab the corresponding direction (W, A or D)

It is really an strange challange with no real value as I see it - Compared to MGSV & Ghoost Recon where the kills with knife just has to happend within few secconds - no mater how you move or tab. This could be improved!

If anyone is still stuck with this you need to make sure you are pressing V when standing at the back of the enemy... literally looking at the dudes back. Of course, they need to still be close to each other

Yeah, the pickup for this option on mobs is finicky. If you normally couldn't pull off a takedown, it will fail. Just as the interrogation is when you get behind them and spam the interrogation key but all that shows is takedown and you cannot manage to do an interro until precisely when the key shows.

I actually recommend a couple 25-50ms spam macros for those keys that you can just hold during these interactions, because the way to beat it is to spam those key inputs until they work like they should and the game accepts them.

Essentially, you replace the base keypresses with a macro that presses the same key at a 25-50 millisecond repeat rate to spam taps and make it always work in times of need.

Part of the challenge with this game is getting used to the jank ass controls :D

You got that down, then you can be stealth killing like Ezio.

As in...just as jankily, but looks cool when you can get it to work.
You have got to be kidding me.. I've enjoyed this game so far, but I can't get chain kills to work for the life of me. I'm left-handed and use arrow keys instead of wasd. After 100 tries I was about to give up. Then it hit me.. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game devs? Hmm.. changed moving back to WASD.. and it works. You gotta be kidding me you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ third rate devs. So if you change the key, it doesn't work?!
