Can't find any Haddock
I'm missing just this one fish for the collection. I've read that they show up after you get the improved tools. I already have them and I've been in the mist for hours, and I get bupkis.

Is my game bugged? I'm following the wiki and other guides to the letter.

I should also clarify: I keep catching fish that shouldn't really be in the misty area, like Bay Shrimp, Herrings and Squids

There is a loot table that take precedence when it is raining. A Make sure you are in the mist region, but not in a part of it where it is raining (you'll get squids and shrimps in the rain).

Yes, I'm making sure that I'm not in rainy areas. I've tried to fish near The lost shrine, Hidden shrine, Crow's end inc. and Hidden thicket, all of which are in clear sky areas. I'm also making sure that I'm fishing during morning and noon. I'm still catching shrimp and squids like crazy

That is quite strange. If you reboot the game from desktop, you still get shrimps in the mist? There might have been a bug in the game state that will be fixed by a reboot.

If you still get shrimps, send me your save to alex@thunderlotusgames.com, I'll take a look and fix it if I can. Save can be found at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Thunder Lotus Games\Spiritfarer\SF_SAVE_GAMES0.sav

Restarting the game worked! I probably should have tried that before posting here :steamfacepalm: Thank you for the help and the swift reply!

No worries, sorry about the bug and the inconvenience!

I just recently got the same bug. I kinda wonder if there's some sort of "scene switching" bug still present in the game (e.g. occasionally cosmic events won't happen with a cosmic background).

But yeah, I've seen Haddock show up before you even get the improved tools, and I have to ask: why the heck are they harder to catch than Tuna??? It's a bit of a killjoy tbh, seeing their reeling pattern and knowing that I'll never catch one so easily without the improved tools.

It would likely be caused by the same bug yes. The game sometime not registering you entering a zone. As for the difficulty, I don't think they were intended to be harder than the tunas. I'll mention it to the designer.
