Ship stuck in ice

I recently sent my ship to a coordinate beyond the blue border. After going in some distance, the ship stopped moving. When I go to the front, it's covered in ice. I tried to change coordinate but my ship wouldn't move.

I assume I need a ship upgrade to go through ice, but what do I do now to get myself out of the ice?

Normally setting coordinates to outside the ice will free you. If somehow it does not, try quit/continue first. If this still does not work, use "Load Auto Save" in the main menu and take the previous save point.

Thank you. I'm pretty sure I tried the first two things. I'll come back here if loading auto save does not work.

You have to set a course that does not intersect with any of these borders, simply clicking back inside the area I was trying to leave did it for me.. In case your wondering, aquiring one of the needed materials for what will allow you past the ice IS story related.
