A way to break the 24 character curse? (suggestion)

Since so many characters throughout the series are functionally clones of one another, maybe they should let us be able to swap between them aesthetically, similar to the alternate costumes from Puyo 20th?

For example, let us swap Harpy with Yu&Rei, Ciel with Klug, Hartmann with Lemres, Sultana with Feli, Carbuncle with Baldanders, Alex with Ms Accord. They don't have to reintroduce the absent Fever dropsets if they don't want to, in order to not mess with the game design, but the fans really would love to be able to play as more characters.

Also Hed and Suketoudara are identical, but annoyingly they are both separate characters here. So in this situation, Hed would need to become swappable with Suketoudara. Then maybe they could use the open slot to reintroduce the Nohoho/Dongurigaeru style of character that is absent from PPC.

Who knows. Just a thought.

Honestly, I don't disagree with the 24 character limit. It helps make sure every game has its own identity, and prevents escalation. 'Oh, this next one must have more characters than this one, then again, then again!'

That said, if they were to expand on it, I'd agree that's the best way to do it.

Besides, the number 24 has become a recurring number for the Puyo series. In fact, in one of the teasers for Puyo 7, there were plenty of math equations, all resulting in 247, or Puyo 7, as pointed out by savy fans.

I would normally be okay with the limit, but in this game, the characters are simply ripped from Puyo Puyo Quest, so at least take advantage of that...

Maybe also have unplayable bosses? Yeah, I agree the swap function could even give us 48. Bring on Chico, Doppelganger Arle, Dapper Bones, Feli, Klug, Lemres, Ecolo, Ms. Accord, Yu & Rei, Lidelle, Ocean Prince... Maybe for the open slot, we could use Chico?

id like to see champions have a changing roster, like, every week the characters available change,
unfortunately that'd be hard to implement, especially since they would all need to have english voices, so they cant just reuse old assets since those were only in japanese...
