replays with highlight points that you can navigate to (this is a great learning tool), fever mode (this mode's really good and is worth the asking price by itself), new voices and characters, rebalanced online mode based on Puyo Puyo Chronicle, and future score challenge and chain drill lesson modes (the latter is super important especially for new players since they're going to be hundreds of fully playable drills instead of three bad glorified videos)

also a slightly revamped aesthetic with a more esportsy-feel and a jingly popping sound effect

all the content is unlocked by default which is especially important for colorblind players

Ranked isn't a total garbage fire in this game.

It has Fever Mode and an 8 player Tournament mode. I love both, but the advantages basically end there. This is a budget title.

I don't know what fever mode is guys. It seems like puyo tetris is still definitive though.

Good for learning puyo, if you love playing online or was a fan of fever mode. If you liked the single player content or tetris on PPT skip it or wait for a sale :v

Easy answer? It's Puyo Puyo like it has been for a long time, instead of being stripped of mechanics to dumb it down to Tetris's level.

What does this mean? Cause as far as I'm aware you can play straight puyo on ppt.

Not in ranked you can't, because there's no filters to avoid dealing with Tetris players.

honestly both tetris and puyo took a hit for the vs mode in ppt
as a hardcore tetris player i hated how ppt felt for the tetris side of things.

get this game if you are interested in a more ballanced puyo vs. puyo online.

okay but whats different about the puyo vs puyo?

PPT messed with the game speed just a little, in ways that threw off a lot of older purists. Other than that though, it's really just the matchmaking actually being fair. And as mentioned before, Fever mode's back, and that has its own separate matchmaking too.
