Puyo Puyo 2 vs Puyo Puyo Fever rules
I am a beginner player and I can't figure out what are the exact difference between those two modes.

At first glance, they seem similar to me.

Fever Mode has a gauge that fills up every time you block garbage. When the gauge is full, you get a pre-arranged chain.
Also, you get differently shaped Puyo's sometimes, depending on your character.

There are more differences but these are the biggest.

Puyo Puyo 2 rules are straightforward: all the pieces come down in pairs and you make chains to battle your opponent. There is only one lose marker in this mode (in the third column)

Puyo Puyo Fever on the other hand is a little more complex: You start with a Fever gauge on the right of your board. If an opponent attacks you, you can counter attack. When you counter attack, you stall the garbage tray on top, and gain one fever point in the gauge. Your opponent gains 1 second of time when you counter. When you reach 7 points in the Fever gauge, you go into Fever mode, which gives you a preset chain.

All characters have a dropset in Fever (in the character select, you will see a preview of this.) and Fever has two lose markers (in columns 3 and 4).
